Seventh Grade Social Studies - Eastern Hemisphere
2 Semesters-Core Class
Students explore the geography and cultures of the Eastern Hemisphere. Sections begin with early civilizations and continue to the modern day in each region. The geography of Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Antarctica is examined and map skills are refined. Students distinguish between the economies of various countries and the effect of the economy on political and/or social issues. The program discusses the responsibilities of citizenship and the expression of thoughts and ideals as they relate to different societies. Reading, writing, the arts and technology are integrated into the program, as students communicate their understanding of ideas.
